On March 18, amidst the vibrant spring season, the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Hubei Province jointly hosted the "Deepening Foreign Investment Introduction to Serve Dual Circulation: CIIE in Hubei" event in Wuhan. Attendees included Wang Zhonglin, Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the CPC and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Li Dianxun, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee and Governor of Hubei. Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce, Xu Lijing, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of People’s Daily, and Zhang Xiaodong, Vice President of Bank of China, delivered remarks. Vice Governor Chen Ping presided over the promotion conference, while Sheng Yuechun, Mayor of Wuhan, and officials from the Provincial Department of Commerce presented investment promotion initiatives. Mineral resources serve as the cornerstone of national economic development, with supply chain stability directly impacting industrial foundations. Aligned with HBUI’s strategic goal of "building a world-class enterprise and entering the Fortune Global 500," HIETC, as a national-level player, has prioritized resource security by optimizing international logistics and enhancing supply chain resilience. Through "hard connectivity" (infrastructure) driving "soft connectivity" (trade networks), HIETC has established a global economic network centered in Wuhan, spanning over 40 countries and regions across five continents. Key components included a themed promotion conference, sector-specific matchmaking sessions, and on-site visits, attracting 116 foreign enterprises and investment agencies—80 of which are Fortune 500 companies or industry leaders.
